The EU Shareholder Rights Directive II (“SRD II”) aims to promote effective stewardship and long-term investment decision making and sets requirements in several areas, including transparency of engagement policies and investment strategies. The requirements are effective from 10 June 2019 and apply to asset managers, such as Seneca Investment Managers Limited (“SIML”).
SIML currently makes detailed disclosures of its commitment to and compliance with the UK Stewardship Code and this is available on our website. We also report to our clients on how we have discharged our stewardship responsibilities. We are currently reviewing the areas of overlap between SRD II and the UK Stewardship Code and considering whether to create a separate engagement policy and will update our website in due course.
